Dr. Mary Zagari K. MacLeod has joined Oak Orchard Health as the Director of Behavioral Health Services. She chose Oak Orchard Health because of its core values and philosophy of care: patients first. She believes that this unique and rare quality in the healthcare delivery system distinguishes Oak Orchard Health from and well above the present day standard of care.
Dr. MacLeod chose Social Work as a career primarily because it offers the platform for humanistic and person-centered care. This field also provides an avenue in allowing her to take action on social justice issues Dr. MacLeod aspires to be a strong advocate for those who feel voiceless. “In working with any group of people, I want to be a positive force in helping impart unto others how to self-advocate, while breaking down social, behavioral, and mental barriers”. Dr. MacLeod’s approach to mental health and wellness is through the use of Humanistic and Positive Psychology methodologies, where the value and agency of each human being is at the center of all care practices. The Behavioral Health services at Oak Orchard will provide services for chemical dependency, children and adolescents, families, couples, as well as older adults.
