Oak Orchard Health sponsors the WIC Program, known as the NYS Special Supplemental Nutrition Program, for income-eligible Women, Infants and Children up to age 5. Our mission is to partner with families to provide breastfeeding support, including a breast pump loaning program, healthy lifestyle promotion, nutrition counseling, nutritious foods, farmer’s market checks and referrals to other helpful programs. Our nutrition staff consists of Registered Dietitians and Certified Nutritionists. Breastfeeding support and counseling is provided by Certified Lactation Counselors and trained Breastfeeding Peer Counselors. Our staff is committed to a patient-centered atmosphere focusing on their needs and concerns.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

To qualify, you must meet all three following requirements:

  • A pregnant, breastfeeding or post-partum woman with an infant or child up to age 5

  • A resident of New York

  • Income eligible—receive Medicaid, SNAP (food stamp) benefits, or other public assistance
